Match-fixing Announcement

Feb 10. 2022 Announcements

Dear Inheritors,

As we keep moving to make this game a fair and fun experience for all our players, we have decided to take a closer look at the current match-fixing going on in Drillcamps and Arena. But before we explain our measures, we do want to clarify what exactly we are talking about.

Match-fixing is when the result of a match is agreed upon by both parties beforehand or during the match.
In the context of Drillcamp in ArcheAge, the most prevalent abuse we've seen is that people are queuing up against teams of their own alternative accounts.

This abuse has led to taking away the entire competitive aspect of the game mode. By combatting this abuse, we wish to breathe new life into this game mode and make it once again a fun and challenging PvP system.

We have been analysing recent Drillcamp matches to find people abusing them with this technique and have discovered the following numbers of players actively fixing their matches:

  • EU: 340 abusers
  • NA: 677 abusers

The above players have received a warning on their account and have been notified individually.

As our aim is to make our PvP as competitive as it was originally intended, we are sending out an official warning to all players involved in this today. Any players who are found to still abuse this method after the time of this announcement will receive stronger penalties.
