Nov 30. 2023 Updates

Greetings everyone, this is the ArcheAge dev team.

We hope that everyone had an amazing 2023 filled with great memories!

For the final update preview of 2023, we want to share some news about updates in December.

* Below contents are currently in development and can be subject to change upon actual release.

About the max damage cap and an era of Erenor Equipment

Our main goal for the December update is to boost your growth.

We're hoping you'll feel more powerful as we increase the max damage cap. At the same time, we focused on lowering the difficulty of obtaining advanced gear.

1. Increasing the max damage cap

Max damage will be increased from 150,000 to 250,000.

Though it was possible to exceed 150,000 damage based on stats you accumulated over a long period of time, damage beyond this threshold was not really applied due to a max damage cap.

We were aware of the need to increase the max damage cap, but this meant that we would have to make adjustments to parts of the game which are essentially the foundation of ArcheAge. It was a risky task, so we hope you understand it took us a very long time to make the decision to implement the change.

Within these limitations, we tried many different ways to try to provide a sense of growth, but as the service period continued on, we imagine that the amount of growth you felt became increasingly unnoticeable and that it must have been hard to really enjoy the game without having any goals for growth.

Starting from last year, we began thinking about how we could resolve this issue. Our goal was to break these limitations at all costs within 2023. Finally, we are able to announce that you'll experience an increased max damage cap this year.

You might not feel a drastic change for this update, but we believe we will be providing a foundation showing the possibilities of growth in the future.

We will continue to strive to make growth feel more noticeable in your journey.

2. Changes in difficulty of obtaining Erenor Equipment

We came to the conclusion that the cost of acquiring Erenor Equipment is too high compared to the cost of upgrading Hiram Guardian Equipment. Therefore we will be making improvements to the difficulty level of acquiring Erenor Equipment so that acquiring the equipment could become a goal for more adventurers.

Since the details of these improvements could affect the market value of items, we will reveal the details during the update.

3. Unstable Erenor Infusions

Unstable Erenor Infusions are tradeable Eternal-grade synthesis materials you can get by defeating certain raid monsters.

They can be used for synthesis of all Erenor equipment, and can also be used to craft certain items through Blue Salt Brotherhood merchants.

Expanding Max Tempering Stage

The max tempering stage for certain equipment will be expanded from +30 to +35.

We're hoping you can experience stronger equipment performance through this update.

1. Equipment Applied

The tempering stage expansion will apply to the following equipment.

  • Erenor Equipment: Erenor/Awakened Erenor/Brilliant Erenor/Refined Erenor
  • Raid Equipment

    • Leviathan: Vigilant Hermit/Resolute Hermit
    • Black Dragon: Wrathful Black Dragon/Ferocious Black Dragon

2. Tempering Grade and Enhanced Stats

Tempering performance will increase by 1% for stages +1 through +20, and 0.5% for +21 through +30.

Performance will increase as seen below for the stages that are added. An increase of 35% will be applied at +35.

Details will become available upon the update. We'll also be adding a box from which you can choose to obtain the Abyssal Lunafrost, so we hope you look forward to the update.

2. Easing the pressure for Heroes building territories and adjusting contributions required for Community Centers

We will be making some adjustments to ease the pressure the heroes felt for constructing territories.

  • Adding methods for obtaining territory designs
    • Only heroes are able to purchase the walls and towers that need to be installed, and a lot of bonds were required. To make it easier for heroes to purchase the designs, we will be adding more ways to obtain the Territory Wall Design and Territory Defense Tower Design.
    • By submitting Faction Commendation to a Commendation Collector 200 times, a faction hero can get 20 Commendable Faction Territory Design Crates (only once).
      • Can choose either a Territory Wall Design or a Territory Defense Tower Design.
  • Auroria Community Center contribution adjustments
    • We'll also reduce the number of times contributions need to be made. This should make it easier to reach rank 3 for the Community Center.

There was an issue where the amount of HP recovered from using an item varied depending on one's Received Healing, making the HP regen of a certain class high.

With this update, the HP regen will become fixed regardless of one's Received Healing for Healing Potions and food.

We ask for your understanding as this is an improvement we are making for fairness in classes.

  • Adjusted Items
    • Potions: Healing Potion, Minor Healing Potion, Heart's Beat, Titan's Healing Potion
    • Food: Bread
    • Others: Guild Courage, Wild Ginseng
